Description:
Liquidity Services is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Specialist to join its North American Finance team. This role supports the Capital Assets Group (CAG) and plays a critical part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The position is well-suited for a high-energy professional who can thrive in a performance-driven environment and adapt to changing workflow demands. Strong growth potential is available, including advancement to a Staff Accountant role based on performance and education.
Role Overview:
- Ensure accurate recording, verification, consolidation, and entry of financial transactions in line with company policies
- Support monthly close activities and assist with financial reporting for the CAG business team
- Prepare general ledger journal entries and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Compile and analyze financial data to support business operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform weekly revenue and bank reconciliations following integration into Oracle
- Match cash transactions using Oracle Cash Management
- Prepare general ledger journal entries during the monthly close cycle
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including prepaids and bad debt allowance
- Prepare unpaid reports and generate invoices when required
- Process weekly refund coding for Accounts Payable payments
- Assist with chargeback requests to payment processors
- Identify unapplied cash and support coding and reclassification
- Process settlement payments and prepare netting of client AR and AP
- Provide accounting support to Customer Service, Sales, and Operations teams
- Respond to internal and external audit requests
- Meet all assigned weekly and monthly accounting deadlines
- Assist team members with ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of accounting experience or an Associate degree in Accounting or a related discipline
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, IF, SUMIF)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently while also contributing as a team player
- Experience working in a continuous process improvement environment
- Ability to consistently meet or exceed accounting deadlines
- Strong punctuality and regular attendance
- Experience with Oracle Fusion financial applications is an advantage
