Resultant – Accounting Manager (Remote)

Resultant is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our internal Operations Team and support the company’s growth and expansion. The ideal candidate will oversee accounting operations including customer billing, revenue recognition, payroll oversight, month-end journal entries, and ad hoc financial analysis. This role is perfect for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and enjoys process improvement and team development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance and maintain billing systems, including project and agreement setups.
  • Approve and ensure accurate generation and delivery of invoices.
  • Review sales orders to confirm correct billing setups.
  • Perform billing and reporting tasks on time and accurately.
  • Manage tax exemption certificates and ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Analyze and resolve escalated customer and internal inquiries.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Foster communication with cross-functional teams and support units.
  • Own Billing and Accounts Receivable Collections processes with guidance from Sr. Accounting Manager/Controller.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations, including ASC842 and ASC606.
  • Coordinate financial planning, budgeting, procurement, and investment activities.
  • Streamline and automate financial reporting and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with departments, external auditors, state tax agencies, and regulatory bodies.
  • Mentor, coach, and guide employees to enhance professional growth and performance.
  • Participate in mergers and acquisitions, including payroll and accounting integrations.
  • Provide payroll support, including final approval of bi-weekly payroll, reconciliation, and complex issue resolution.
  • Train and support colleagues on time tracking and payroll software usage.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years progressive accounting experience; 1+ year managerial experience, preferably with progression from Billing or Payroll Manager.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state tax regulations and payroll compliance.
  • Expertise in accounting principles, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Familiarity with ADP, Netsuite, Connectwise, and other accounting software.
  • Proven leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Emphasis on effective cross-departmental communication and process improvement initiatives.
