Role Overview:
The Accounting Manager role is a hands-on position responsible for managing accounting functions for multiple clients. This includes overseeing full-cycle month-end close, accounts receivable and payable, payroll processing, and tax compliance. The role also involves managing general accounting operations, preparing financial statements, delivering management reports, monitoring cash flow, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. Experience working with early-stage startups and establishing accounting policies and procedures is highly preferred.

The position is remote and work-from-home, with preference given to candidates located near Attivo’s employee hubs such as San Francisco/Bay Area, Los Angeles/Southern California, New York City, Austin, and Boston. Candidates from other locations are also encouraged to apply. Limited travel is required for company events (approximately 2–3 weeks per year), with in-person onboarding during the first three months.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly financial statements and perform budget versus actual analysis
• Support financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning for clients
• Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and contract reviews
• Oversee accounts payable to ensure accurate processing, timely payments, and policy compliance
• Handle employee onboarding, payroll processing, and terminations
• Mentor, guide, and train junior and future team members

Requirements:
• Strong understanding of GAAP; CPA strongly preferred
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
• Hands-on experience with accounting and finance tools such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Bill.com, Gusto, Expensify, and Carta
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently
• Curiosity, creativity, and a strong desire for continuous improvement

Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; CPA is a plus
• Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
• Background in fast-paced technology, startup, or professional services environments
