Description:
Nucleus RadioPharma is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to support the day-to-day accounting and financial operations critical to the company’s success. This role involves accurate transaction processing, maintaining general ledger integrity, and producing timely financial reports. The Accounting Associate will work closely with cross-functional teams including Quality, Operations, and Procurement, and will thrive in a fast-paced, evolving start-up environment, particularly within CDMO, biotech, or manufacturing settings.

Principal Responsibilities

Core Accounting Operations

• Process daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Review and process vendor invoices for approval and payment, ensuring correct coding to cost centers or projects.
• Reconcile cash and other accounts as needed.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, preparing journal entries and reconciliations in compliance with GAAP.
• Support inventory accounting and cost tracking in partnership with Operations and Supply Chain teams.
• Aid in cash management and forecasting, including monitoring vendor payments and project-related expenditures.

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures consistent with corporate policies.
• Assist with audit preparation, tax filings, and coordination with external auditors and consultants.
• Support compliance documentation related to SOX readiness and quality management standards relevant to a CDMO.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Contribute to ERP/accounting system implementation and optimization (e.g., NetSuite).
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance workflow efficiency, data accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
• Collaborate with finance and leadership teams to establish scalable processes as the organization progresses toward commercialization.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably within life sciences, biotech, CDMO, or manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial controls.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred.
• Intermediate Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, pre-revenue start-up setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment and collaborate across all organizational levels.
• Ability to participate in cross-functional teams and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain focus on detailed work.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and using a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.

• Salary range in Minnesota: $30–$35 per hour; may vary depending on qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
