About The Role:
As an Accounting Associate reporting to the Director of Accounting, you will perform accounting functions for multiple early-stage and high-growth startups across various industries. You will serve as a liaison between clients and external agencies while partnering with the Fondo Accounting, Tax, and Operations teams in a fast-paced, remote environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for multiple clients
- Manage payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and other accounting functions
- Perform ad hoc analyses and special projects as requested
- Follow proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
- Stay current with bookkeeping, tax filing, and HR standards and regulations
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and maintain accuracy
- Track billable hours and manage project tracking in proprietary software
- Maintain organized filing systems in cloud-based applications
- Monitor client communication channels such as Slack and Front for support needs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA license is a plus but not required
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting theory, principles, and practices
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
- Experience managing financials for multiple clients simultaneously
- Strong written communication skills to document accounting processes
- Ability to handle ambiguity, creatively solve problems, and prioritize multiple responsibilities
- Proficiency in data analysis and presenting financial information
- Experience in SaaS, tech, startups, high-growth, or PE-backed companies preferred
- Big 4 experience is a plus but not required
Compensation and Benefits:
