The Accounting Associate will report to the Director of Accounting and is responsible for performing accurate accounting functions for multiple early-stage and high-growth clients across various industries. This role requires close collaboration with the Accounting, Tax, and Operations teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, remote environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for multiple clients.
• Manage payroll, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, and related financial functions.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, methods, and principles.
• Stay up-to-date on bookkeeping, tax filing, HR standards, and regulations.
• Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
• Track billable hours across client accounts.
• Maintain project tracking in proprietary applications.
• Organize and manage cloud-based filing systems.
• Monitor client communications via Slack and Front for support needs.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA license is a plus but not required.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience managing financials for multiple clients.
• Excellent written communication for documentation and procedural manuals.
• Ability to handle ambiguity, prioritize tasks, and creatively solve problems.
• Proficiency in data analysis and preparing financial reports.
• Experience in SaaS, tech, startups, high-growth, or PE-backed companies preferred.
• Big 4 experience is a plus.
