Description:
thyssenkrupp North America is seeking a motivated Accounting and Finance Intern to join its Chicago/Southfield office remotely. This internship provides hands-on experience in accounting, finance, and reporting processes based on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and supported by integrated SAP systems. As part of the team, you will assist and learn across multiple accounting and finance functions while gaining valuable exposure to a diversified multinational conglomerate.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable and Cash Processes:
- Assist with ERP interfaces, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Support accrual processes and intercompany cost allocations.
- Participate in month-end close, reporting, and analysis.
- Automate internal bank statements and assist with cash forecast reconciliation.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
Learning & Development:
- Gain practical experience in IFRS accounting and financial processes.
- Contribute to accurate reporting, analysis, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with experienced finance and accounting professionals.
Qualifications:
- Senior-year Accounting and Finance students or recent graduates with a GPA of 3.3 or higher.
- Eligible to work full-time in the United States without sponsorship.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Internship Details:
- Duration: 9 months, with potential for extension.
- Work hours: Monday through Friday, 40-hour week, with occasional overtime.
- Remote work opportunity, preferably close to Chicago or Southfield, MI, with occasional in-office presence as needed.
