WE ARE HIRING – ACCOUNTING ANALYST
One80 Intermediaries is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Analyst to support accurate financial reporting related to reinsurance contracts. This role plays a key part in managing technical accounting data, cash activity, and reconciliations while collaborating closely with underwriting, finance, claims, and actuarial teams.
Role Overview:
The Accounting Analyst will ensure accuracy across premium, claims, commission, and reinsurance accounting. The position involves hands-on responsibility for reconciliations, settlements, data validation, and financial analysis in support of reinsurance operations.
Your Impact:
- Prepare, analyze, and reconcile premium, loss, and commission transactions for proportional and excess-of-loss treaties.
- Process broker settlements, bordereaux, and reinsurance statements of account.
- Maintain accurate and complete records within Duck Creek Reinsurance and internal financial systems.
- Review ceding statements to ensure accuracy, contract compliance, and proper cash settlement.
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve variances in technical accounting data.
- Ensure timely processing and payment of outgoing reinsurance claims.
- Support contract setup, monitoring, and performance analysis activities.
- Assist with process improvements, system enhancements, and audit-related requests.
- Provide financial data, reporting, and ad-hoc analysis to finance, actuarial, claims, and operations teams.
Successful Candidates Will Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of technical accounting experience within insurance or reinsurance environments.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and reinsurance operations.
- Experience using Duck Creek or similar insurance/reinsurance systems.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
