Description:
A leading organization operating within the logistics, warehousing, and supply chain sector in the UAE is currently seeking an experienced Accountant specializing in Retail operations to join its finance department in Dubai. This role is ideal for a professional with a solid background in retail accounting who can manage financial operations and contribute to accurate financial reporting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing full-cycle accounting processes, ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining compliance with UAE tax regulations, and supporting business decision-making through financial analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complete accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger activities
- Perform bank reconciliations, customer and supplier reconciliations, and intercompany account balancing
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, including preparation of financial reports
- Ensure full compliance with VAT and UAE Corporate Tax regulations, including exposure to overseas tax considerations where applicable
- Monitor and manage cash flow, budgeting processes, and working capital requirements
- Conduct inventory and stock reconciliations and support both internal and external audit activities
- Coordinate payroll-related processes in collaboration with the HR department
- Assist with ERP system implementation and financial system improvements (Tally/Retail Pro preferred; Microsoft Dynamics considered an advantage)
- Prepare cost sheets, SKU pricing analysis, and financial performance reports to support management decisions
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of proven accounting experience within the retail sector
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and UAE tax regulations
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF formulas, and dashboard creation
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Tally or Retail Pro; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics will be considered an added advantage
- Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
