Red Nucleus is seeking a motivated and detail-focused Entry-Level Accountant (Level 2) to support essential accounting functions across the organization. This role places a strong emphasis on project accounting and revenue recognition while working closely with internal business units and project teams. The successful candidate will contribute to accurate financial reporting, ensure compliance with GAAP standards, and assist with timely month-end close activities. Prior experience in healthcare or life sciences is beneficial but not mandatory.
Key responsibilities include supporting month-end close and revenue recognition activities across multiple business units, preparing revenue recognition reports, and ensuring revenue is recorded accurately. The role involves reviewing billing and revenue schedules against client Statements of Work, auditing monthly project reports, and reconciling balance sheet accounts related to unbilled and deferred revenue.
The accountant will collaborate with project managers and finance partners to resolve discrepancies related to revenue, expenses, invoicing, and reporting. Responsibilities also include posting month-end journal entries, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, and performing monthly financial fluctuation analysis at a consolidated level. Support for annual audits, government surveys, insurance questionnaires, and other compliance-related requests is also part of this role.
Additional duties cover reviewing and approving international and domestic vendor payments, monitoring banking activities, preparing wire transfers within defined limits, and serving as a backup for client invoicing. The role also supports expense report reviews and ensures company credit card activity is properly recorded in the accounting system.
From a systems and process perspective, the accountant will assist with the implementation of new PSA and ERP systems, prepare and upload monthly foreign exchange rate files, and manage accounting for capitalized software in coordination with development teams to ensure proper GAAP treatment.
Candidates should have a solid understanding of GAAP principles, strong analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams. Experience with Sage Intacct, PSA tools, ERP implementations, and multi-currency environments is considered an advantage.
