Description:
Myriad Genetics is hiring a dedicated and detail-focused Accountant for a US-based remote role. This position plays a key role within the Accounting department, supporting month-end close activities and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, hands-on experience with reconciliations, and the ability to perform financial analysis in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and record journal entries while maintaining the general ledger
- Support month-end and year-end close processes in coordination with the accounting team
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure accuracy in line with GAAP, statutory requirements, and internal policies
- Conduct financial analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve variances
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested schedules and documentation
- Support the Accounting Manager with prepaid schedules and related accounting entries
- Maintain accounting schedules, reports, and supporting documentation
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects and ongoing process improvements as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new accounting systems and software
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow established procedures accurately
- Professional demeanor with strong organizational and time-management skills
Physical Requirements:
- Light physical activity, including lifting up to 20 pounds as needed
- Ability to perform essential job functions such as sitting, standing, moving, communicating, observing, and using office equipment
