Role Summary:
We’re looking for a reliable Accountant to join a busy retail finance team in Dubai. The role involves day-to-day ledger maintenance, month-end close tasks, VAT compliance, and supporting management with timely financial reports and analysis. This is a hands-on position best suited to someone who’s comfortable in a fast-paced retail environment and familiar with UAE accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, the general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports that provide clear insight for management decisions.
- Maintain accurate financial records in line with company policy and UAE regulatory requirements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and cost control activities to help the business hit its financial targets.
- Handle VAT filings and ensure tax compliance, preparing schedules and supporting documentation as required.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing schedules and explanations when requested.
- Process payroll on time and accurately, and support any payroll reconciliations or queries.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years’ accounting experience in the UAE; retail sector experience is an advantage.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, UAE VAT rules and experience with ERP/accounting software.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with other MS Office tools.
- High attention to detail, good organisational skills and the ability to deliver to deadlines.
