Description:
A leading Industrial Equipment & Parts Trading company is seeking a skilled Accountant to join its team in Dubai. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced accounting professionals with a strong background in UAE trading or distribution businesses and expertise in financial reporting, tax compliance, and trade finance.
The successful candidate will oversee the complete accounting cycle, ensure compliance with UAE VAT and IFRS standards, manage import accounting activities, and support financial operations while maintaining accurate records and efficient internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the complete accounting cycle, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and assist with UAE VAT return filings in compliance with FTA regulations.
• Maintain proper accounting documentation and audit trails for FTA inspections.
• Coordinate with external auditors and ensure compliance with IFRS.
• Strengthen internal controls and support ERP process improvements.
• Manage import accounting, customs documentation, freight verification, supplier advance allocations, and Letter of Credit (LC) documentation.
• Reconcile Import VAT with the FTA Portal (Box 6).
• Reconcile supplier statements and ensure timely allocation of supplier advances.
• Monitor customer aging, credit control, and customer account reconciliations.
• Follow up on overdue customer payments and maintain healthy receivable balances.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–5+ years of UAE accounting experience in a Trading or Distribution company.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, Trade Finance, and IFRS.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, particularly in reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
