Description:
A well-established Steel and Metals Trading company in the UAE is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its growing finance team. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong accounting background in the UAE, particularly those with experience in trade finance and commercial trading operations.
The successful candidate will manage key accounting functions, support financial reporting, oversee trade finance activities, and ensure compliance with UAE accounting standards and VAT regulations. Candidates with prior experience in the steel and metals trading sector will have a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage daily accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Handle Documentary Letters of Credit (LCs) and trade finance transactions.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor financial transactions.
• Complete month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and accounting standards.
• Prepare and review banking and commercial correspondence.
• Maintain accurate financial documentation and support internal reporting requirements.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience within the UAE.
• Hands-on experience with Documentary Letters of Credit (LCs) and trade finance.
• Proficiency in Odoo ERP.
• Experience preparing financial statements, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, VAT regulations, and financial reporting.
• Excellent English communication skills with the ability to prepare banking and commercial correspondence.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Previous experience in the Steel and Metals Trading industry is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Odoo ERP and accounting software.
• Trade finance, Documentary Letters of Credit (LCs), and banking procedures.
• Financial reporting, VAT compliance, bank reconciliations, and accounting standards.
