The Role

The Daily Accountant will play a critical role in managing the financial health of the organization. This is an individual contributor position that reports directly to the CFO, with limited company meetings and regular one-on-one check-ins. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, capable of working independently, and experienced in managing GAAP accounting within a hardware manufacturing environment, with previous experience across deferred revenue, depreciation and amortization.

The Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Manage financial transactions using Airbase, QuickBooks Online, and Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
  • Handle payroll processing across various platforms and onboard new employees, including payroll and benefits setup.
  • Establish and maintain state tax accounts and registrations.
  • Reconcile inventory reporting with accounting records.
  • Create and post adjusting entries for deferred revenue, depreciation, amortization, payroll, prepaid expenses, and benefits.
  • Process accounts payable payments and manage vendor relationships.

The Requirements

  • Experience in a full-function business accounting role.
  • CPA preferred, but not mandatory to be successful.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business with a Finance emphasis.
  • Prior experience with deferred revenue, depreciation, amortization, payroll, prepaid expenses, and benefits is a must.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, specifically within a hardware manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with Manufacturing and Inventory
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel (including intermediate functions such as VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables), and various payroll platforms.
  • Experience working remotely with a distributed team, demonstrating self-motivation and reliability.
