Guidebook is currently seeking a motivated and self-driven Account Manager to focus on growing and retaining an existing portfolio of customers. This role is centered on upselling, cross-selling, renewals, and driving net revenue retention across a high-potential book of business. Accounts range from small-to-medium businesses and corporate clients to higher education institutions.
The Account Manager will be responsible for identifying new revenue opportunities, navigating complex customer organizations to engage decision-makers, and building long-term relationships that drive customer growth and satisfaction. This is a client-facing sales role focused entirely on existing customers, ensuring strong renewals while expanding account value.
Within 3 Months, You’ll
- Take ownership of renewals and upsell initiatives for an assigned portfolio in partnership with Customer Success and Sales teams
- Learn creative and effective ways to leverage the Guidebook platform to solve real customer challenges
- Close renewals on a quarterly basis while identifying and closing add-on sales to meet or exceed quota
- Analyze customer usage data to understand product adoption and identify growth opportunities
Within 6 Months, You’ll
- Achieve 100%+ net revenue retention through proactive renewals and strategic expansion efforts
- Build and document a scalable success plan that supports organization-wide adoption and growth
- Develop a pipeline worth three times your quarterly upsell quota by identifying untapped accounts
- Collaborate closely with teammates and leadership to assess team needs and improve processes
- Lead quarterly business reviews to position Guidebook as a long-term strategic solution
- Execute outbound strategies including emails, calls, and event participation to expand impact
Within 12 Months, You’ll
- Prioritize and manage your portfolio like a business, focusing on the highest-growth opportunities
- Consistently grow Average Contract Value (ACV) by at least 20% across your territory
- Identify and implement scalable process improvements within the role
- Actively contribute to team success by sharing best practices and supporting peers

- Confident hosting discovery calls, demos, strategy sessions, and growth conversations
- Comfortable with outbound calling, follow-ups, and closing activities
- Curious, adaptable, and willing to test new approaches and refine strategies
- Coachable mindset with a desire to learn and stay ahead of industry trends
- Strong sense of ownership and drive, thriving in a fast-paced startup environment
- Collaborative team player who contributes to shared success
- Willingness to attend trade shows 2–3 times per year
