BlakBear is on a mission to transform the global food system and eliminate unnecessary food waste. Today, nearly one-third of food is wasted due to outdated expiry date systems. BlakBear is changing this by replacing traditional use-by dates with smart labels that detect spoilage gases and AI-powered technology that accurately predicts remaining freshness. Founded by scientists from Imperial College London, BlakBear is rapidly becoming a disruptive force across the global food supply chain.

Following recent enterprise-level partnerships with major food manufacturers across the UK, Canada, and the United States, BlakBear is expanding its North American sales team and is looking for a driven Account Executive to help accelerate growth. This role reports directly to the Chief Revenue Officer and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a fast-growing, mission-led company.

The Role:

  • Manage the entire sales lifecycle for North American enterprise customers, including discovery, qualification, validation, proposal development, and deal closure
  • Drive new logo acquisition as well as expansion opportunities within existing enterprise accounts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with multiple stakeholders across complex customer organizations
  • Apply strategic thinking to identify risks, gaps, leverage points, and new revenue opportunities in active deals
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and align sales activities with the company’s defined sales process
  • Execute outbound sales initiatives using HubSpot
  • Collaborate closely with the product team to influence roadmap priorities based on customer value
  • Represent BlakBear at trade shows and industry events to strengthen market presence
  • Travel to customer sites across North America as required
  • Work remotely within the United States, with preference for candidates based in Eastern or Central time zones

Required Skills & Experience:

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 4–8 years of B2B sales experience within the food industry, particularly with food manufacturers (meat, fish, poultry preferred)
  • Proven experience selling software, equipment, ingredients, testing services, or IoT solutions
  • Strong background in managing complex, value-based enterprise sales cycles
  • Hunter mindset with experience introducing and selling new or emerging technologies
  • Ability to thrive in an early-stage, high-growth startup environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both executive leadership and technical teams
  • Highly organized, process-driven, and capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously
  • Technically curious and able to quickly grasp scientific and product concepts
  • Highly motivated, ambitious, and persistent in follow-ups to close deals successfully
