Vacancy – Head of Secondary School – Dubai International Academy Al Barsha (DIAB)

The Head of Secondary is a leadership role responsible for the overall management and academic progress of Grades 6-12. The Head of Secondary will work closely with the Principal, Head of Primary and other senior leaders to ensure the smooth operation, growth, and success of the Secondary Section.

Dubai International Academy Al Barsha (DIAB) opened in 2018 as an IB World School for students aged 3 to 18. We are a truly international school, embracing diversity with 90 nationalities of students and 25 nationalities of staff. Our vision is “to provide world-class education” consisting of strong academic outcomes, holistic development and extensive pastoral care, whilst creating a happy and purposeful environment.

The school offers extensive facilities on a 23-acre campus including athletics track and field, 3 swimming pools, 3 sports halls, grass and astro-turf pitches, a 400-seat auditorium, 2 libraries, 2 cafeterias, specialist labs for Science, Art & Design and plenty of shaded outdoor play and seated areas.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Recognised teaching certification and extensive teaching experience
  • Master’s degree in education or equivalent Leadership qualification
  • At least 3 successful years’ experience in school leadership position
  • A track record in improving academic achievement
  • Familiarity with the requirements and expectations of international school accreditation bodies
  • Familiarity with the education landscape in Dubai and the Middle East region is desirable
  • Strong leadership, management & organisational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the IB curriculum and its implementation
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff
  • A cultural understanding and ethos to motivate staff and students to continually strive for excellence
  • A commitment to internationalism, inclusivity, diversity, and the holistic development of students
