Good opportunity for the Head of Primary who is responsible in shaping a vision of academic excellence for all primary students at Dubai Scholars. Major duties include creating a climate hospitable to education, cultivating leadership in others, improving learning and teaching, successfully managing the primary team (including specialists), termly data analysis which fosters school improvement and builds academic achievement for all students.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Promote high standards of academic performance for all students.
- Promote high standards of behaviour.
- Establish a professional rapport with students and with staff.
- Display the highest ethical and professional behaviour and standards when working with all stakeholders in the community.
- Serve as a role model for students and staff.
- Communication and Community Relations
- Present a series of open evenings, coffee mornings and events for primary families.
- Focus on implementing and achieving high levels of student academic performance benchmarked against UK national standards and present this data to parents through curriculum workshops.
- Plan for effective data collection and analysis to support future learning and to ensure school reports are accurate in reflecting a student’s personal strengths and targets.
- Work alongside the Head of School to ensure that the school is compliant with KHDA regulations and requirements.
- Promote the Arabic language and the Emirati heritage as part of the school culture and curriculum – adhere at all times to the school’s Compliance Policy.
Essential and desirable qualifications:
- Provide all necessary qualifications for KHDA approval – essential
- Should hold as a minimum, a B.Ed. or B.A & PGCE or equivalent.
- Have 5+ years’ experience as a Head of Primary – desirable
- Have experience of working in a British curriculum school – desirable
- Have recent experience of working in the Middle East – essential
