Since 2017, Resolve to Save Lives has partnered with low-and middle-income country governments, multilateral agencies, academic and other civil society partners, and communities to implement policies and programs to treat and control hypertension, reduce sodium intake, eliminate artificial trans fats, and strengthen systems for epidemic prevention.
Position Purpose
The Finance Associate supports RTSL’s grants management team, ensuring accurate records, compliance with organizational procedures and policies, and serving as a key point of contact for the team. Solid knowledge of accounting practices, attention to detail, effective communication with internal and external partners, and a strong work ethic are essential for this role. The Finance Associate assists the Senior Finance Managers with daily tasks and helps maintain account information. This position reports to the Senior Finance Managers and works closely with the grants, finance, and program teams (US and global). This is a full-time, remote role with occasional in-person team meetings.
Accounting
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and process expense reports and per diem requests in compliance with the travel and expense policy.
- Verify corporate credit card reports for correct budget coding.
- Review, reconcile and assign budget codes to monthly transactions as needed.
- Maintain account reconciliations for contracts as needed.
- Assist with invoice processing, forwarding relevant documents to Accounts Payable.
Finance
- Monitor expiration dates for contracts (e.g., independent consultants, service provider agreements, subgrants) and alert Contract Managers accordingly.
- Respond to and manage ad hoc report requests from staff.
- Create Purchase Requisitions for contractual obligations.
- Track subgrant financial reports, ensuring timely receipt and compliance.
- Manage expired Purchase Orders, de-obligating funds as necessary.
Qualifications
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
- 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or related roles
- Experience with expense management and accounts payable processes
- Familiarity with grant management a plus
Skills And Abilities
- Highly organized, detail oriented, self-starter
- Strong computer skills; intermediate ability in MS Excel, including understanding of formulas and pivot tables
- Ability to work independently and as a team member; self-directed, ability to work with minimal supervision yet knowing when to ask questions
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, plus discretion with sensitive information and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Comfortable communicating with staff across different countries and cultures
- Critical thinking skills to apply general rules, but also catch inconsistencies
Other
- Able to work during US East Coast working hours
- Able and willing to convene in-person for team meetings about twice a year

The salary range for applicants based in the US is $– to $– annually. The exact offer will be determined by various factors, such as the candidate’s skills and experience relative to the requirements of the role. For applicants based outside the US, salaries are set according to national labor rates for the international NGO sector.
