Our client is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Docket Clerk to join their growing team in Boston, New York City, or Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of experience in docketing within a large law firm or similar legal environment. This role will be responsible for the accurate entry, maintenance, and monitoring of critical court and agency deadlines, ensuring compliance with jurisdictional rules and firm protocols. About the Job:
- Enter, update, and monitor litigation and IP docketing information in the firm’s docketing system (e.g., CourtAlert, CPI, or similar platforms).
- Review incoming court filings, correspondence, and notices to ensure accurate and timely docket entries.
- Calculate deadlines in accordance with applicable court rules (state, federal, appellate) and international IP guidelines.
- Generate docket reports and coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure awareness of upcoming deadlines.
- Support litigation teams during filings and pretrial activity, including coordinating calendars and reminders.
- Perform regular audits and maintenance of docketing records for accuracy and compliance.
- Stay informed of procedural changes in court rules and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate across multiple practice groups including Litigation, Intellectual Property, and Regulatory.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–4 years of docketing experience in a law firm or legal department (AM Law firm experience preferred).
- Proficiency in docketing software (e.g., CourtAlert, CPI, iManage, or similar tools).
- Strong understanding of civil procedure and court rules (federal, state, and local).
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with attorneys and staff.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
