Description:

We are looking for a Design Manager for a rail project in Dubai.

Education:

• Bachelor’s in civil engineering from a reputed university; 
• Master’s in Structural Engineering, Engineering Management or Project management or related discipline is an advantage

Requirements:

• At least 15 years of experience in engineering management (10 years in the UAE)
• Experience in RTA project is mandatory
• Rail or Metro experience is mandatory
• Must have prior experience in team management

Responsibilities:

• Experience and knowledge in preparing and reviewing rail structure design;
• Manage a team of Structural Engineers and CAD technicians;
• Provide structural solutions to construction team and sub-contractors;
• Review and provide technical inputs for procurement and material quality team;
• Ability to present and discuss design packages with Client and authorities;
• Provide technical inputs to interface, system assurance and stakeholder teams;
• Ability to read and apply technical specification requirements and contractual obligations;
• Ability to draft technical-contractual letters and provide support to commercial team.

Other responsibilities:

• Providing engineering support to the project team for technical input during the procurement process
• Providing engineering support to the project team for technical input during the claim process
• Reviewing change proposals raised by the sub-consultants
• Ensuring that design packages developed by the Design Consultant have been reviewed by the appropriate personnel within the Design Team prior to being submitted for approval to the engineer
• Ensuring that the interdisciplinary coordination has taken place during the Design Team review process
• Providing engineering support to the project team for the handover process
