We are excited to announce an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our client team in Dubai, UAE.

Contract: Yearly Renewable

Job Summary:

As our DBA, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing effective database migration strategies while minimizing disruptions to live services. Your expertise in schema design, SQL query tuning, and DBMS installations will be key in maintaining the performance and integrity of our databases. Additionally, you will troubleshoot issues and provide technical support to users. This role also encompasses backup and recovery plans, database upgrades and expansions, and continuous performance improvement.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the performance, integrity, and security of our databases
Plan and develop the database, troubleshooting any user-related issues
Maintain consistent data across the database
Create new users and schemas
Import and export data between servers and schemas
Provide guidance and support to Application/DB Developers
Assist with schema design, code review, and SQL query tuning
Install, tune, implement, and upgrade DBMS installations
Write and deploy SQL patches and scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading during migrations
Upgrade and improve application schema and data upgrades
Ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks
Proactively make recommendations for system improvements
Prepare statistical information for internal and external use
Implement and manage data management practices and policies
Demonstrate a strong understanding of data and schema standards and concepts
Exhibit expertise in database design, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Take ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
Prepare High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) for all database-related projects, migrations, or upgrades, following industry best practices for security, scalability, performance, and availability.

Qualifications:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Information Services/Computer Science (Master’s degree is a plus)
8-10 years of work experience in a delivery-focused role with SQL DBA experience
Excellent understanding of database design, with mandatory Telecom industry experience
Experience in agile design and delivery, CI/CD environments, and designing large-scale, high-performance, and distributed web applications.
