Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and proficient Database Administrator (DBA) with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in MS SQL Server administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our MS SQL databases to ensure their performance, availability, and security. The role involves collaborating closely with development teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders to maintain a robust and efficient database environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Management: Oversee the administration of MS SQL Server databases, including configuration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting.
• Security: Implement and enforce security policies and access controls to safeguard sensitive data within the databases.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize queries, and ensure databases operate at peak efficiency.
• Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and availability in case of failures.
• Database Design: Work with developers to design and optimize database schemas, indexes, and queries for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Monitoring and Alerts: Set up proactive monitoring systems and alerts to detect and resolve issues before they impact operations.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to database configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with development and IT teams to support application development, testing, and deployment activities.
• Training: Provide mentorship and training to junior DBAs and other team members, sharing best practices and promoting knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator, specializing in MS SQL Server.
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and optimizing database performance.
• Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server features, versions, and editions.
• Experience with database security, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions for MS SQL Server.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate are a plus.
