Our is a reputable and growing insurance company based in Abu Dhabi, committed to delivering outstanding insurance solutions to our clients. We are currently looking for a dedicated and skilled Database Administrator to join our client’s team and help them to maintain thier data infrastructure.
Job Description:
As a Database Administrator (DBA) at Insurance Company based Abu Dhabi, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our database systems. You will work closely with our IT team to maintain and optimize our database infrastructure, allowing us to better serve our clients and support our business operations.
Responsibilities:
- Database Management: Administer and oversee our database systems, which include Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL, to ensure their smooth operation and reliability.
- Data Security: Implement and enforce robust database security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access or breaches.
- Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks, optimize SQL queries, and fine-tune database configurations to ensure optimal system performance.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain data backup and recovery plans to safeguard against data loss and facilitate disaster recovery.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted business operations.
- Documentation: Keep detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps up to date.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and IT professionals, to support various projects and initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience working as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of database management systems, such as Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL.
- Proficiency in SQL and database performance tuning.
- Familiarity with database security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) will be a plus.
