Job Summary
The High-Volume Data Entry Clerk will be responsible for efficiently entering large amounts of financial and accounting data into the company’s systems. This role requires a high level of accuracy, speed, and attention to detail, as well as the ability to manage large datasets in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in data entry, possess excellent organizational skills, and be able to handle high volumes of data while ensuring precision and meeting tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently input high volumes of financial data, transactions, invoices, and other accounting-related information into company databases and accounting software.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy while processing large datasets, ensuring that all data is entered correctly and promptly.
- Review and verify data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before entering it into the system.
- Ensure data integrity by identifying and correcting any errors or discrepancies in the information.
- Work closely with the accounting team to ensure that data is entered in alignment with financial reports and procedures.
- Process and maintain records of daily transactions, financial entries, and other accounting data as required.
- Organize and archive financial documents and records for easy retrieval and future reference.
- Assist with preparing reports or summaries based on the data entered to support internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive financial data and information.
- Meet daily, weekly, and monthly data entry targets to ensure that financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Perform general administrative and clerical tasks as needed to support the accounting department.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in high-volume data entry, particularly in an accounting or financial setting.
- Strong typing skills with a high level of accuracy and speed (minimum typing speed of [insert words per minute]).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets while ensuring accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
