We are Hiring for the role of Customs Manager

Here’s A Snapshot of What Your Responsibilities Would Include:

• Work closely with data and business development team as it relates to the validation of Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes
• Support the internal and external stakeholders with establishing standard requirements for shipment documentation, both import & export.
• Resolve transactional issues relating to the clearance of shipped goods by working daily with Dubai customs, brokers, and other related logistics providers.
• Ensure adequate document retention from internal and external stakeholders to support compliance with government agencies and international trade regulations.
• Handling all import and export customs clearance activities for all shipments shipped into/ out of UAE SEA/AIR/LAND Ports
• Ensure administrative processes are compliant with customs regulation, company policies, and operational requirements
• Responsible for establishing a process to ensure accurate documentation for customs declaration
• Be the focal point with customs authorities, lead the company responses to queries and audits, ensuring that the most cost-effective and compliant solutions are identified, provide advice to the business on the best course of action
• Conduct monthly customs checks, identify customs risks, and prevent and mitigate violations, implementing any corrective and preventative actions.
• Working closely with the Finance team to ensure payment towards customs is accurate and the duty payment account is well maintained
• Develop trade compliance training material and conduct employee training to heighten awareness of customs issues and changing legislation
• Review and standardize the Company’s use of third-party service providers for improved compliance and cost savings.

Skills:

• Trade compliance knowledge and experience with Dubai customs are must-haves
• Project management skills
• Proactive management skills.
• Must be able to multitask and meet established deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office – especially Excel (ideally intermediate to advanced level).
• Ability to influence in a highly matrixed environment and across a variety of internal and external stakeholders

Your Education / Qualification:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role in the eCommerce environment in the UAE
• In-depth knowledge of incoterms, import/export licenses, and requirements related to customs clearance in the UAE and major GCC countries
• Experience in working with UAE customs on strategic initiatives is preferred
• Expertise in custom documents preparation, stock consolidation, reconciliation, document verification
• Excellent level in English, Arabic would be a plus.
