We are looking for a Contracts & Legal Manager for Ocean Oilfield Drilling – Abu Dhabi
Role Summary:
The Contracts & Legal Manager will be responsible for the company’s contracts and tenders. The main tasks include, but are not limited to, drafting and reviewing contracts, searching for relevant regulatory documents, and providing legal advice to the Management. This job requires leadership skills, strong negotiating skills, and excellent communication skills. The position will be based in Abu Dhabi, reporting to Operations Manager and Chief Executive Officer.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, develop, and review contracts, including the tender management, post-tender negotiations, contract award and standard processes post-award
- Responsible for all contractual and commercial aspects of the contract, and have full understanding of the specified scope of work and contract terms
- Drafting and negotiation of third-party supplier contracts for the company in line with standard terms & conditions and standard contracting principles
- Ensuring compliance with the terms & conditions, as well as documenting and agreeing on any changes or amendments that may arise during its implementation or execution
- Support the continual development and implementation of a robust governance programme within the company to ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures and meet the company’s obligations under relevant legislation
- Translates complex commercial/legal scenarios into simple language and action plans
- Handle arbitrations, Dispute resolutions and official transmissions of them, Attend court hearings.
Requirements:
- Law based Honors degree
- Proven experience within a contracts & legal role with a drilling contractor, oilfield operator or marine shipyard
- Knowledge of the drilling industry is highly desired
- Contract management and negotiation skills,
- Through knowledge in International Maritime Laws & Cases
- Fluent in English (verbal and written) and highly proficient communication abilities, both verbal and written
