Construction Estimator

• We are looking for a thorough Construction Estimator to estimate possible costs and gains of construction projects who will collect and analyze data according to a series of useful variables.
• The ideal candidate will be reporting to the Commercial Manager / Contracts Manager who shall be very familiar with the Construction market in Dubai with high analytical skill and must have great attention to detail and excellent communication skills. The goal is to provide the company with accurate information that will help in operations and strategic planning.
• Construction Estimator Job Responsibilities: Prepares and estimates budget costs for construction by studying RFQ/RFP/Tender Document such as Drawings, BOQ’s and specifications.
• Prepare Budget Estimates for internal reporting for various types of Construction Works and/or Facility Management Services.
• Review architectural plans and quantify the Works as per the RFQ/RFP/Tender Invitation
• Estimate quantity and costs of materials for each item of the Work to the details.
• Review the Tender Documents in full and suggest / prepare Contract, RFQ and other documents related to estimation department.
• Analyze costs for maintenance and additional building needs
• Track changes in plans or constructions; update budgets
• Hire and document suppliers and subcontractors in coordination with the Procurement Department
• Identify potential financial or construction risks and report to the Management
• Document progress, materials, and reports on project
• Source maintenance costs and facilities management for clients
• Develop and maintain working relationships with clients, contractors, and subcontractors
• Use Software and keep data base for estimation purpose
• Evaluates offers to purchase by site requirements, additions, and costing changes.
• Resolves cost differences by analyzing and collecting info.
• Writes up and presents budgets, reports, and project plans.
• Develops bids for construction projects.
• Works closely with architects and other professionals.
• Schedules meetings with clients, site managers, and staff as and when required.
• Processes paperwork and travels to building sites as and when required.
• Stays up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction.
• Strong math skills including algebra, geometry, and basic arithmetic
• Ability to navigate specifications and plans
• Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects
• Ability to handle multiple assignments at once
• Understanding the different Forms of Contract based on FIDIC
• Fair understanding of the Construction Law in the UAE
• Knowledge of the latest building codes such POMI, CESMM etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably in Arabic.
• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University
• At least 5 years of related experience out of which 2 Years’ experience shall be in the UAE
