Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Collections Specialist to join our team. As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for managing business to business collection activities, and effectively recovering outstanding debt and negative balances. Your primary duties will include contacting customers to collect daily settlement discrepancies, research and resolve all collection related activities, and develop accurate reporting displaying collection efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate with internal/external customers to ensure accuracy of accounts receivables and discuss outstanding balances.
  • Utilize effective communication and negotiation skills to secure timely payments.
  • Review and analyze customer accounts to identify delinquencies and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Collaborate with other departments if necessary to resolve customer disputes and discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collections activities and provide regular reports on collection activities, uncollectible balances and write-offs to management.
  • Generate and send out collection letters, invoices and statements as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with SOC Audit on collections, write-offs and recovery.
  • Provide optimum customer service, assisting clients/carriers with questions, intake information and prompt payment arrangements, building excellent relations.
  • Maintain collections tickets within JIRA and Salesforce.

Skills

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Business or equivalent
  • 2+ years with proven experience as a Collections Specialist or similar role.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing collections.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive customer information with confidentiality and professionalism.
