Description:

Black & Grey HR is seeking a Chief Engineer for a 35 Metre Catamaran located in Dubai, UAE. This role entails the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the yacht’s propulsion and auxiliary systems. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the engineering crew and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards. They will take on the overall responsibility for all technical operations and equipment on-board the yacht.

Your Day-to-Day:

• Oversee and manage the yacht’s engineering department, including engineers, mechanics, and other technical personnel.
• Lead, motivate, and provide guidance to the engineering team to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Plan and execute maintenance, repair, and overhaul of the yacht’s machinery, engines, and auxiliary systems.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment and systems are in good working order.
• Ensure the yacht’s compliance with international, national, and company-specific regulations and safety standards.
• Develop and manage the engineering department’s budget, including procurement of spare parts, supplies, and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports related to the yacht’s operations, maintenance, and safety.
• Act as the designated person in charge (DPOC) during emergency situations, including fire-fighting, abandon-ship drills, and other critical situations.
• Ensure the crew is adequately trained in emergency response procedures.
• Implement and oversee environmental protection measures in line with international maritime environmental regulations.

Requirements

What We Hope You Bring:

• A bachelor’s degree in marine engineering, marine technology, or a related field is required.
• Chief engineer experience on yachts of similar size.
• Experience with working on 35 Meters yachts with Russians.
• In-depth knowledge of yacht engineering systems, including main engines, generators, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Can assist across departments when necessary.
