Job Summary

As a Business Analyst within Surgery Partners growing BI team, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business leaders and our engineering and analytics teams. You will serve as the critical link, translating complex business challenges into clear, actionable technical requirements. This role demands a proactive self-starter who thrives on exploring, researching, and leveraging data to uncover insights to drive organizational strategic direction.

In this position, you’ll partner closely with executives, operational leaders, clinicians, and technology professionals to deeply understand their business objectives and how data can drive informed decisions and improve healthcare delivery. Your ability to interpret business needs, coupled with analytical and technical acumen, will directly support leaders in maintaining operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Development:

  • Drive the day-to-day development of key analyses to support stakeholder objectives, ensuring that insights meet the business needs of Surgery Partners.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (developers and data engineers) to translate complex data into actionable insights that inform strategic and operational decisions.
  • Analyze structured and unstructured healthcare data to identify trends, opportunities and operational performance metrics.

Data Modeling And Understanding

  • Build a deep understanding of underlying data models, inputs, and definitions to ensure accurate analysis and reporting.
  • Work with stakeholders to refine data definitions and establish a consistent approach to data interpretation and usage.

Product And Visualization Development

  • Build understanding of data visualizations, tools, and create reports that effectively communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence (BI) developers to produce interactive dashboards and other analytical products that align with business needs and are intuitive, accurate, and aligned with end-user requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a liaison between the BI team and business stakeholders, understanding their data needs and aligning expectations.
  • Prioritize data requests based on organizational goals and resource availability.
  • Train and support stakeholders in navigating BI reports and tools.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a business analyst or data analyst role, preferably in a healthcare setting

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Excel, Familiarity with Sigma, PowerBI, and / or data visualization tools.
  • Basic understanding of data modeling, statistical analysis, and problem-solving techniques.

Communication And Collaboration

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Intellectual curiosity, fast learner, attention to detail
