The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, eager to learn, can effectively collaborate cross-functionally, and thrive in a fast-paced production environment. The Background Coordinator will be responsible for working directly with the Credentialing and Background Manager to ensure the appropriate healthcare professionals complete the applicable state specific background checks for the states in which they hold licensure.

Background Coordinators will also collaborate with the credentialing team to assist with other onboarding related duties as needed.

About your role:

  • Process background checks according to state specific requirements and internal policies.
  • Review consent forms for background record checks.
  • Coordinate pre-employment checks, and regulatory clearances, as applicable.
  • Coordinate fingerprinting and process results, as applicable.
  • Receive and review background check results for healthcare professionals for consideration of their suitability to work.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding background check issues to ensure appropriate resolution and follow-up.
  • Maintain confidentiality of background check information in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations concerning the access to and dissemination of the information.
  • Resolve issues in a timely way while effectively prioritizing customer needs.
  • As needed, provide day-to-day support for health care professionals, which includes real-time conversations via telephone, live chat, and email.
  • Other onboarding related tasks, as needed.

Requirements for the role:

  • 1–2 years’ credentialing experience in an acute or post-acute setting credentialing CNAs, LPNs, RNs and therapist for accuracy to determine their eligibility to hire.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under the pressure of tight deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions and time constraints.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and ethical standards in a variety of situations.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude towards customers at all times.
  • Strong Organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills..
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (I. e. Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).

Preferred but not required:

  • 1–2 years’ experience working with federal, state, and local criminal background check sites/systems, collecting and reporting results. Experience working directly with a CRA is a plus.
