The Dubai Health Genomic Medicine Center is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Molecular Geneticist to join our team as an Assistant Director. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of genomic medicine in a rapidly growing healthcare sector, contributing to cutting-edge advancements in rare diseases, cancer, carrier screening, and prenatal diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert clinical molecular genetic services, including diagnostic interpretation, reporting, and counseling support for rare diseases, oncology, carrier screening, and prenatal screening.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including genetic counselors, laboratory scientists, and clinicians, to ensure high-quality genomic services.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of genomic medicine programs in alignment with international best practices.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing leadership in clinical genomics and laboratory practices.
- Engage in research and innovation projects to advance genomic medicine applications.
- Hold an academic appointment at a suitable rank, contributing to teaching and training in the field of genomic medicine
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Board certification or equivalent qualification in Clinical Molecular Genetics (e.g., ABMGG, CCMG, FRCPath, or equivalent).
- Extensive experience in clinical molecular genetics, particularly in rare diseases, cancer genomics, and reproductive genetic screening.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to guide genomic medicine initiatives.
- A track record of academic contributions, including research publications, teaching, and mentorship.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and multicultural healthcare environment.
