As the Assistant Controller at Gurobi Optimization, you will be critical in overseeing financial operations for the company’s U.S. and corporate operations. This position involves preparing and analyzing GAAP-compliant financial statements, supervising Gurobi’s procurement department, and managing general ledger accounting for U.S. operations and corporate treasury balances.

The Assistant Controller will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, contribute to strategic financial planning, and enhance internal controls and financial processes. Reporting to our Global Controller, you will also collaborate globally to establish reporting and compliance infrastructure supporting our ongoing global expansion.

What will you be doing?

  • Manage the accounting close for U.S. operations and the consolidated entity, coordinating with overseas counterparts.
  • Supervise a team of two direct reports handling Gurobi’s global procurement process and U.S. payroll, collaborating across departments such as People (HR), Sales, Support (Experts), Research and Development, and Marketing.
  • Prepare and review general ledger transactions to ensure accurate recording in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Work with the Global Controller and VP of Finance to manage Gurobi’s treasury process, including cash disbursements, bank reconciliations, and lender reporting.
  • Assist in managing and optimizingGurobi’s financial systems and ERP software for data accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support the annual audit and assist internal and external tax specialists with compliance activities.
  • Contribute to the global budget and forecasting process.
  • Assess the impact of proposed significant transactions, such as integrating new business acquisitions or expansions.

What experience and qualifications should you have?

  • 5+ years in senior accountant or manager roles in private industry, with direct supervision experience, preferably in technology. Public accounting experience is preferred but not required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Proficiency in using NetSuite or comparable ERP systems and familiarity with Salesforce, similar CRM systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
