What We Need
While working for RTS as an AR Specialist, you will primary focus on collections activities and working with customers on updating their past due balances, focusing on cash applications, reconciliations, and bad debt reduction.
The position is based in New York, NY, and is considered hybrid and requires a blend of work from home and in office, 3 days per week, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
This position can also be remote if you live in one of the listed States.
What People Say About You
You have billing and/or accounting background with experience in various accounting functions. You have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks with a problem-solving attitude.
What You Will Be Doing
- Prepare and process customer invoicing
- Post and process certain journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
- Perform general accounting reconciliations
- Daily reconciliation of all payment activities to correct settlement batches
- Daily entry, application, and deposit preparation related to AR deposits
- Maintain and manage customer database from the perspective of collections and billing accuracy
- Investigate and resolve open items related to customer invoicing
- Maintain all customer files
- Apply customer payments timely and accurately into the accounting system
- Responsible for all customer portal submissions and maintenance
- Review and respond to customer correspondence
- Coordinate meetings with customers/TL team members to ensure minimal amount of past due, collections ad hoc activities
- Monthly customer margin review
- Participate in ad-hoc accounting and finance projects
Is this you?
Must Have Skills/Experience
- 2 years of experience in accounting, with a concentration on collections
- Proficient with Microsoft suite, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Thrives in a fast-paced work environment, maintains a positive frame of mind and sets an example of professionalism for other employees;
- Adept at handling change and maintaining a professional, mature presence;
- Demonstrated organizational, and problem-solving skills;
- Detail oriented and accurate in execution, ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision;
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines;
- Ability to adapt and change
Post-Secondary degree/diploma an asset
