Application Developer

Qualification:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline

Activities/Skillset:

• Expected activities but not limited to the following;
• Understand business teams’ requirements and how to translate them into application features
• Understand and apply Application Deployment Lifecycle
• Carry tasks related to fronted Development and backend Development
• Understanding and following the practical, foundational knowledge of project management, collaboration, and communication
• Write high-quality source code that follows the best coding standards
• Perform unit testing, integration testing and static code analyzer scan
• Provide testing, documentation, training, and support for in-house developed applications
• Maintain documentation as per Enterprise Application Section standards
• Troubleshoot and debug applications and resolve user-submitted problems and questions
• Evaluate and understand existing applications to redevelop, update and add new features
• Responsible to adhere with all information security policies and procedures of the University.
• Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
• Expected skill set but not limited to the following;
• Iterative software development lifecycle and best practices
• Experience with Object-Oriented Analysis, Design & Programming
• Superior programming skills that relate to code development, maintenance, and implementation
• Experienced with writing/developing database objects (SQL, PLSQL) for Oracle Server or another Relational Database
• Experienced with C# using Visual Studio using ASP.NET and Entity Framework
• Experienced with Web Services protocols such as REST, SOAP and API design for extensibility and portability
• Experienced with GIT as version control and code collaboration tool.
• Experienced with JavaScript and modern UI frameworks for frontend development
• Experienced with Java/JEE, JSON, XML, REST, MVC frameworks, Design Patterns, JavaScript, jQuery, GWT
• Good knowledge of Application and code security
• Familiar with Scrum/Agile/DevOps development methodologies
• Interpersonal skills along with the ability to work in a team.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to perform tasks independently.
• Good presentation and report-writing skills.
• Years of Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of core programming experience in applications developments
