Role Overview
We’re seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (AR) Supervisor who will lead our billing and receivables operations while playing a key role in configuring and testing our AR system in Workday. This person will take ownership of high-volume invoicing and cash application reconciliations, serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries, and support critical setup elements including customer portal, payment gateway, and invoice presentation.
The ideal candidate has strong Workday Financials experience, thrives in cross-functional environments, and brings both operational discipline and systems thinking to the table. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and optimize how we manage AR at scale.
Key Responsibilities
AR Operations & Oversight
- Own the billing process end-to-end, including invoice creation, formatting, delivery, and accuracy in Workday.
- Manage high-volume cash application, investigating variances, unapplied cash, and payment discrepancies.
- Perform regular reconciliations and ensure alignment between Workday and bank/payment systems.
- Supervise AR support roles and provide day-to-day oversight and coaching.
- Monitor and maintain clean AR aging; partner with internal stakeholders to support collections.
- Serve as the first point of contact for customer inquiries related to invoices, payments, and account setup.
Workday System Setup & Testing
- Participate in the configuration and user testing of the Workday AR module, including:
- Invoice templates and presentation
- Payment gateway integration
- Customer portal access and usability
- Cash application workflows
- Customer setup workflows and data validation
- Collaborate with IT, Finance, and Business Operations teams to identify system requirements and validate functional design.
- Document issues, enhancements, and test results during AR system rollout.
Customer Support & Coordination
- Support customers with billing-related questions, portal navigation, and payment submissions.
- Guide customers through the vendor onboarding process, providing documentation as needed.
- Partner with legal and finance teams to ensure billing aligns with contractual terms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4+ years of AR experience with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong Workday Financials experience is required, especially in Customer Portals, AR, invoicing, and reporting.
- Experience managing high-volume transactions, including reconciliations and payment processing.
- Familiarity with customer portal configuration, payment gateway integration, and invoice formatting within ERP systems.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills; comfortable fielding inquiries from customers and internal teams.
- Process-oriented with a systems mindset and experience supporting system implementations or optimizations.
- Experience in a dynamic, scaling, or mission-driven organization is a plus.
