What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Follow up accurately and timely on unpaid and underpaid claims by assigned payers
- Research claim denials to determine reasons and correct/reprocess claims for payment
- Initiate and follow up on appeals while documenting all actions taken on accounts
- Identify root causes of denial trends and recommend improvements to prevent future denials
- Meet established productivity and quality metrics for the Accounts Receivable department
What Is Required (Qualifications)
- High School Graduate/GED required; Technical School/2 Years College/Associates Degree preferred
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience working in healthcare revenue cycle
- Knowledge of healthcare billing, including CPT/ICD-10 coding and denial reason codes
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer literacy skills
