Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to join our finance team. The AR Specialist will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliation, to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and issue accurate invoices in a timely manner.
- Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Process and apply customer payments accurately in the accounting system.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or disputes with clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales, finance, and operations) to ensure proper revenue recognition and resolve billing issues.
- Maintain and update customer records, including credit terms and payment history.
- Prepare and analyze AR aging reports and escalate overdue accounts as needed.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes related to AR.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Continuously improve AR processes to enhance efficiency and reduce risks.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a related finance role.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, PeopleSoft, or similar ERP systems).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, LOOKUPs, etc.).
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyze and resolve issues efficiently.
