Hiring Accounts Payable Clerk

Description

We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in the non-profit industry, based in Menlo Park, California. The role will involve the use of your Accounts Payable skills to work with gross receipts, reconcile supplier accounts, and manage data within Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and resolve invoice discrepancies in accounts payable
  • Communicate effectively with vendors for information gathering to resolve any accounts payable invoice discrepancies
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel for downloading and managing data
  • Apply your knowledge of Accounts Payable in handling gross receipts
  • Perform account reconciliations, particularly with supplier accounts
  • Ensure the accuracy of purchase orders and journal entries
  • Use your proficiency in coding invoices to maintain accurate records
  • Leverage your experience with mid or large-tier ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics AX
  • Work remotely with occasional on-site work for cross-training and team collaboration.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role, preferably within the non-profit sector
  • Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and practices
  • Demonstrated experience in coding invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Familiarity with gross receipts and their management
  • Proven ability to perform account reconciliation with attention to detail
  • Experience in cash reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accounted for
  • Knowledge of purchase orders, including creation, tracking, and fulfillment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute positively to the team dynamic
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear and concise reporting
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new accounting practices and technologies.
