Hiring Accounts Payable and Receivable Officer
Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable and Receivable Officer is responsible for managing both the payable and receivable accounts of the company. This role involves processing invoices, ensuring timely payments to vendors, and managing incoming payments from clients. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable:
- ·Process and verify invoices for goods and services received.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and ensure proper authorization for payment.
- Prepare and process payments, including checks, wire transfers, and ACH.
- Maintain accurate and complete vendor files, including W-9s and other required documentation.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist in month-end closing by ensuring all expenses are accounted for.
Accounts Receivable:
- Generate and send out invoices to clients.
- Track payments and ensure timely collection of accounts receivable.
- Apply payments to customer accounts and reconcile discrepancies as needed.
- Follow up on past due accounts and coordinate with clients to resolve payment issues.
- Prepare aging reports and provide regular updates to management on the status of accounts receivable.
- Assist with cash application and bank reconciliations.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
