Accounting Clerk I required

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk I, United States. This role involves various tasks related to accounting, customer service, and administrative duties. You will be working in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for maintaining customer accounts, handling invoices, and coordinating with internal teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle and process special handling invoices for complex commercial customers.
  • Ensure the maintenance of third-party billing portals.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding customer account status.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication.
  • Perform and maintain account billing reconciliations for customers.
  • Investigate and resolve any irregularities or inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide necessary documentation to customers or internal teams upon request.
  • Maintain sensitive customer financial information and keep financial records organized.
  • Recommend improvements for invoicing processes.
  • Research and resolve second and third level customer inquiries.
  • Develop key relationships with cross-functional teams to mitigate invoicing errors.
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience in a customer-facing role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective communication with internal teams and third parties
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for data entry and analysis
  • Experience with accounts payable (AP), invoicing, and billing processes
  • Ability to perform ad hoc financial research and analysis
  • Experience in the handling and reconciliation of customer accounts
  • Strong decision-making skills and ability to recommend improvements to accounting functions
  • Experience in supervising a team is advantageous
  • Ability to perform data entry quickly and accurately
  • Experience with third party billing processes
  • Excellent phone etiquette and ability to handle customer queries professionally
  • Ability to maintain financial records in an organized manner
  • Experience using different portals for accounting and customer service functions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop mitigation strategies when necessary
  • Familiarity with accounting software and tools.
