The Strapi Finance team is looking for an Accounting Associate with experience in preparing and analyzing financial information, ensuring compliance with local accounting standards, and maintaining positive relationships with internal & external stakeholders.

The Accounting Associate will partner closely with our external accounting teams in the US and France and provide comprehensive support for customer and vendor billing. You’ll regularly interact with Strapiers across different departments and support them in effectively managing expenses and adhering to company policies.

The right person for this role will fully grasp the principles of US GAAP, group consolidation, and accounting best practices while also possessing excellent customer service skills.

What will my job look like on a daily basis?

  • Lead the monthly and annual financial close process in coordination with external accountants, ensuring deadlines are met, accuracy is maintained, and compliance requirements are adhered to.
  • Maintain the General Ledgers, prepare financial reconciliations, and consolidate financial statements across the group, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Strong knowledge of transfer pricing is a plus.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow projections, by interpreting financial data, identifying trends, and presenting actionable insights in a clear and concise manner.
  • Manage tax compliance processes in both the US and France, coordinating the preparation and filing of tax returns while monitoring tax payment schedules.
  • Ensure banking governance policies and loan covenants are adhered to.
  • Accounts Receivable management: Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and collections from customers, reconcile accounts, and proactively resolve any billing discrepancies. This requires excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Accounts Payable management: Process vendor invoices and expense reimbursements, ensuring compliance with company policies and payment deadlines. Actively monitor and improve the expense management process for Strapiers.
  • Maintain financial documentation and records in accordance with company and legal standards, ensuring they are audit-ready at all times.
  • You provide excellent customer service and support to our customers on billing-related inquiries.

About You

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting (experience with US GAAP is required, experience in French GAAP is a strong asset).
  • You have excellent proficiency in Excel for data analysis, report creation, and complex calculations. You also have experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks, and can demonstrate the ability to learn new tools quickly. Proficiency in Google Sheets is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and customers across different regions and cultures.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all financial processes, reporting and documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive in identifying inefficiencies where you can add value and improve processes.
  • Capable of working independently, managing multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. There are often many tasks to be completed in a day, and it is crucial that you can independently prioritize and manage your workload in an effective manner.
  • Experience working in a remote environment is a plus.
