Our Customer is an American financial services mutual organization based in Milwaukee. The financial security company provides consultation on wealth and asset income protection, education planning, retirement planning, investment advisory services, financial planning trust and private client services, estate planning and business planning. Its products include life insurance, permanent life insurance, disability income, and long-term care insurance; annuities; investments; and investment advisory products and services.
Our Customer is looking for an Accountant on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is 100% remote.
Responsibilities
- Performing transactional accounting for field offices.
- Processing vouchers, entering journal entries, processing commissions and period closing reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Be involved in payroll, 1099 processing, training of new contractors, maintaining relationships with offices assigned and office specific accounting projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Must be technology savvy and know how to work with:
- Excel: Ability to maintain and manipulate a worksheet accurately.
- Outlook: Email and calendaring.
- Able to organize and prioritize their task while working in dynamic environment.
- Experience doing journal entries(credits/debits) and understand accounting principles
- Professional communication and proper grammar is required
