Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to fill the role of Accountant/Bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will be fully conversant with Xero and QuickBooks, proficient in keeping accounts up to date on a daily basis, and possess a detailed knowledge of UK statutory accounts. Advanced proficiency in Excel is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records using Xero and QuickBooks.
- Prepare monthly management accounts pack, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Manage accounts in multiple currencies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Process UK payroll operations efficiently and accurately.
- Handle VAT, PAYE, and Corporation Tax filing requirements, ensuring compliance with UK regulations.
- Maintain knowledge of Companies House filing requirements and ensure timely submissions.
- Manage filing deadlines and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and manage filing requirements for multiple jurisdictions, including UAE, Qatar, Singapore, and others.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts to assist in financial planning and decision-making.
- Actively manage cash flow to optimize liquidity and financial performance.
- Maintain and reconcile bank accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Administer sales commissions accurately and in accordance with company policies.
- Prepare ad hoc reports as required by management or regulatory authorities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of UK statutory accounts and tax regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
