The organization is seeking a highly creative and community-focused Social Media & Content Strategist to support its Developer Relations and open-source AI initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who understands developer communities, modern content platforms, and how to build meaningful engagement through storytelling and digital presence.

The selected candidate will work closely with Mozilla leadership to shape communication strategies, experiment with content formats, and strengthen Mozilla’s presence across developer-focused platforms and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive content and social media strategy focused on open-source AI initiatives

• Establish Mozilla’s presence as a leading voice in developer relations and AI community discussions

• Design and manage a vertical short-form video strategy for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts

• Create engaging technical content including explainers, demos, scripts, and storytelling formats for developer audiences

• Identify and engage with key communities across Reddit, Discord, Hacker News, and other developer platforms

• Build authentic relationships with developers, creators, and AI ecosystem contributors

• Support the growth and management of Mozilla’s Substack newsletter, including content planning and audience engagement strategies

• Collaborate with writers, designers, and internal teams to produce consistent and impactful content

• Experiment with modern open-source AI tools to enhance content creation and community engagement workflows

• Provide strategic recommendations on platform selection, audience engagement, and content distribution

Requirements:

• Strong background or experience in Developer Relations, content strategy, community building, or digital media

• Deep understanding of developer ecosystems and technical communities

• Strong intuition for internet culture and modern social media trends

• Experience creating or managing short-form video content and social media campaigns

• Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution

• Excellent communication skills with a storytelling mindset

• Genuine interest in artificial intelligence, especially open-source AI and its societal impact

• Comfortable engaging directly with online technical communities and influencers
