Description:
dbt Labs, a global leader in analytics engineering and modern data transformation, is seeking a highly skilled Revenue Manager to join its growing finance organization. The company empowers thousands of data teams worldwide to transform raw data into reliable, actionable insights and supports enterprise-scale analytics operations for leading global brands.

This role is a key technical leadership position within the revenue accounting function, responsible for ensuring accurate revenue recognition, maintaining compliance with ASC 606, and supporting complex contract and pricing structures as the business scales.

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical accounting expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to partner cross-functionally across multiple teams including Sales, Legal, Product, and Finance.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead first-level review of monthly revenue close activities and ensure accuracy of revenue recognition

• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and revenue schedules for completeness and compliance

• Manage complex contract reviews including modifications, non-standard deals, and usage-based revenue models

• Ensure all revenue reporting aligns with ASC 606 accounting standards

• Draft and maintain technical accounting memos and revenue recognition policies

• Provide subject matter expertise on complex revenue accounting issues

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess revenue impact of new products, pricing strategies, and business models

• Support new product introductions from a revenue accounting perspective

• Strengthen internal controls and support external audit requirements

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability

• Mentor and guide team members to improve technical expertise and review quality

Requirements:
• 6–9+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong focus on revenue recognition

• Deep expertise in ASC 606 including multiple performance obligations and variable consideration

• Experience reviewing complex contracts and non-standard deal structures

• Hands-on experience leading or reviewing monthly revenue close processes

• Strong ability to research, document, and defend accounting conclusions

• Experience in SaaS or technology-driven environments

• Strong understanding of internal controls and audit processes

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• CPA certification or Big 4 accounting background

• Experience drafting technical accounting memos for auditors

• Exposure to IPO readiness or public company reporting

• Experience improving revenue systems, automation, or processes
