Description:

An urgent opportunity is available for an experienced and detail-focused Procurement Officer to join a dynamic shipyard operation in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing procurement activities, ensuring the timely sourcing of materials, equipment, and services required for shipbuilding, maintenance, and repair projects. This position demands strong coordination skills, cost awareness, and the ability to maintain high-quality standards under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and purchase marine-related materials, spare parts, and equipment as per operational needs

• Request quotations from suppliers, negotiate competitive pricing, and process purchase orders efficiently

• Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and warehouse teams to align procurement with project requirements

• Ensure all materials are delivered on time to support project schedules and avoid delays

• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while continuously assessing vendor performance

• Monitor stock levels and assist in planning inventory requirements

• Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and procedures

• Prepare detailed procurement reports, cost evaluations, and maintain accurate documentation

• Manage and process import/export documentation when necessary

Requirements:

• Prior experience working as a Procurement Officer, preferably within the marine or shipyard industry

• Strong understanding of marine materials, equipment, and spare parts

• Excellent negotiation and supplier management capabilities

• Familiarity with procurement workflows, documentation, and compliance standards

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines

• Strong analytical thinking and organizational skills

Additional Qualifications:

• Professional certification in procurement or supply chain is considered an added advantage
