They are currently hiring a Payroll Specialist Lead – PEO to support their US payroll operations and ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll execution across the organization.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced, remote-first environment and is passionate about improving payroll systems, processes, and compliance standards. The position involves close collaboration with teams across Payroll Operations, Finance, Product, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute end-to-end payroll processing for the US PEO environment ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
• Validate payroll inputs, calculations, and outputs across all payroll cycles
• Handle payroll exceptions, adjustments, and reconciliations while escalating complex issues when necessary
• Support implementation of payroll processes, system updates, and regulatory changes
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders on payroll execution and compliance matters
• Identify and contribute to improvements in payroll workflows, documentation, and efficiency
• Assist in testing payroll system enhancements and ensuring operational readiness
• Provide guidance and support to other payroll specialists as needed
• Monitor payroll KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics
Requirements:
• Experience in US payroll operations, preferably within PEO or similar environments
• Strong knowledge of US federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Experience with payroll validations, reconciliations, and statutory filings
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with payroll systems and willingness to learn new tools
• Comfortable working independently in an asynchronous, remote-first environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• High attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality
• Experience with automation or AI-enabled workflows is a plus
